Talking to your Dentist

I’m sure all of us have a regular dentist that we visit a few times every year. I just want to share  my experience with my dentists and why you should definitely express your interest in the field  to them. I began to take interest in dentistry around my freshman year of high school, but it  wasn’t until my senior year that I expressed my interest with my dentists. Immediately after I  mentioned my interest in becoming a dentist, I was bombarded (the good way) with information  about the field, how to prepare for dental school, what classes to take, shadowing, etc. I also  learned about their personal experiences over the course of their dental journey that you can not find online. One of my dentists even offered to let me shadow as soon as I was ready,  which was amazing because reacting out to a dentist to shadow seemed a little daunting to  me. Talk to your dentists and express your passion, it was definitely the most beneficial thing  I’ve done on my dental journey so far.
